The bands of all Apple Watch models are interchangeable but they must be of the same size. For example, while the 38 mm link bracelet can be used on the Sport, Watch and Edition models, it will not fit the 42 mm size, regardless of model.

- Turn your Apple Watch so you can see the back
- There are two small buttons at the top and the bottom of the back of the watch.
- Push in the top button using your fingertip and then slide out the top portion of the band, you can slide left or right. If you’re having trouble pulling it out, try pressing the button with something small and plastic, like a pen cap or similar.
- Repeat the same process with the bottom.
- Simply slide the band connector into the slots on the Apple Watch. Do not force any bands into the Watch slot; you might just have it backward. Press the band-release button again if you still cannot slide the new band home.
- If you are using a Link Bracelet, you need to press a quick-release button first so the band is in two pieces before you try to take it off the Apple Watch or resize it.
