NewSight Japan uses film, software to give the iPad, iPhone a 3D display

The Apples track records of adopting new technologies are always happen. Like SD slots, we are going to go ahead and assume Steve Jobs & Co is not planning on adding a 3D display to iPad and iPhone anytime soon. NewSight Japan is inviting you to mod it yourself in a way doesnt involve performing open heart surgery on the iPad. The solution is software with a film placed over the display. It does not flip 2D to 3D images, so those operating sans a 3D enabled camera or conversation software are apt to be sorely disappointed. It had fit rights into utopian universe where 3D movie downloads were the norm.

Nintendo cutting Wii price to $150 on May 15th

The Nintendo Wii will cost $150 from May 15th, but we are waiting for the official announcement. The timing would make some sense, Nintendos profits have tanked for a while due flagging hardware sales, and just a month Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils Aime hinted that the Wiis price might be potential variable to change that in an interview with Gamasutra. Still, we are not fully convinced that Nintendo would announce a price cut then, we can confirm it on the Electronics Entertainment Expo in June, and not the company to let this sort of announcement leak out, but if you find a shiny new copy of Mario Kart Wii in a $150 console bundle this time next month, we will be happy that we told the price already.
