The LG made the official announcement of the first LTE tablet, and it is Optimus Pad LTE. It is a 9.3mm thin slate, features a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm CPU and an 8.9-inch IPS display with 1280*768 resolution, 8MP camera on the rear and an 2MP camera on the front. The users can expect SD card slot that supports 32GB, there is also an HDMI connectivity and DLNA certification for good measure. It is powered with 6,800mAh battery and ships with Android 2.3 no words on when it will grab Ice Cream Sandwich. It will first arrive in South Korea, for more details read the press release.

The users of ASUS Transformer Prime may already enjoy the hot-off-the-press upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich. Sprint had a Windows Phone currently in its lineup, but remains decidedly unenthusiastic about the platform as a whole. The PCMag reports that Sprint David Owens said that the carrier is willing to train its reps on Windows Phone, but that Microsoft has to build the enthusiasm for the product, adds that the number-one reason the product was returned was the user experience. Sprints Director of Product Development, Lois Fagan, adds that the carrier remains cautiously optimistic, but that Windows Phone just has not taken off. TiVo latest study says that its users who have broadband connected to DVRs only watch live TV 27% of the time. This just reaffirms what is obvious to some, that if people have an enjoyable way to access on-demand content, they will prefer it to live TV. It looks like Android 4.0 is on the way to the Nook tablet in an unofficial manner. Just a few days after tablets bootloader was bypassed, developer Brandon Bennet has now apparently manages to get an early version of the Android 4.0 based CyanogenMod9 up and running on the device, you still have to wait a bit longer for something that is actually useable. Some other developers has also managed to get the tablet to boot from microSD card, and there is been some progress with Ubuntu on the tablet as well.
