Samsung Uses Gear VR To Let People Go Shark Diving

Samsung wastes no time when it comes to presenting the awesome worlds that its Gear VR virtual reality headset can let you discover.

Samsung recently set up a dive shop in Alice Springs, Central Australia, 1,200 kilometers away from the nearest ocean. By doing this, it allowed people to go “shark diving” – not for real, of course, but by using the Gear VR. Most of those who tried this were very surprised by the virtual diving experience (and the shark encounters) – as you can see in the video that’s embedded below.

The footage that people are watching in the video can also be seen in Samsung’s Experience stores in Sidney and Melbourne, and will soon be released via Oculus App Store (which contains all the official content for the Gear VR).

The Gear VR is currently sold or $199. However, it needs a Galaxy Note 4 to function, so it’s of no use to those who don’t have Samsung’s latest Note. Of course, the Gear VR will support some of Samsung’s upcoming high-end smartphones, including the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy Note 5.
