According to a recent report from Reuters, Samsung Pay will gain support for online payment in the United States in 2016, bringing it further in-line with competitors like Android Pay and Apple Pay.

Samsung Pay debuted in US on September 28, and quickly took a huge lead over Apple Pay and Android pay and is widely used at most stores. While Apple Pay and Android Pay requires retailers to install dedicated hardware, Samsung Pay is compatible with new and older credit card terminals and do not require any special arrangements with retailers, allowing the service to become most widely accepted mobile wallet in the United States.

With support for online payments, Samsung Pay will appeal to more users and makes it as a competitor to other online payment solutions like PayPal.

In addition to online payment support, the report also mentions that Samsung Pay will be coming to lower-priced Samsung phones within the next year.
