HTC Research Launches Fun Fit - Fitness App For Android

There is no shortage of fitness app in Google Play Store, but only a few apps can be considered fun and useful. The biggest hurdle with fitness programs is a lack of motivation. HTC planned to address this by allowing you to connect with your Facebook friends and share your progress with them.

The HTC Fun Fit app lets you connect to your friends on Facebook who is also using the app. It’s a simple program that counts your steps once you log in to Strolling. It simply works as a pedometer, tracking how many steps you’ve already taken while doing your daily activities. Until you log out of the app, Fun Fit will continue to count your steps including calories burned, time, and distance.

Making this more fun is the interaction with your Facebook friends. You can see their progress, as well as, read and share more information about fitness. You can also view all your records in a chart whether daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly. Like most health and fitness apps, you can personalize your data by adding your weight, height, and daily goals.

Developer HTC Research describes this as a social fitness app– adding the ‘fun’ social in a usually boring business. It’s fun because you can use cute avatars for your profile. It doesn’t offer much compared to the other complicated and more serious health and fitness that are already available, but this one looks fun because of the cutesy interface and avatars.

Although Fun Fit was from HTC Research, it is not limited to HTC devices. You can download this app from Google Play Store and install it on any mobile device running at least Android 4.1 and up.
