How To Use Gallery – Samsung Galaxy Tab 4

Learn how to use gallery on your Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. Use Gallery to view, capture, and manage photos and videos.

Note: Photos and videos are stored in the Device storage/ DCIM/Camera folder, photos as jpg files and videos as mp4 files.

Selecting Photos and Videos to View

• From a Home screen, touch Apps icon > Gallery icon. All albums display.
• Choose items to display by making selections from the menus in the Application bar: Albums, All, Time, Locations, People, or Favorites.
• Touch Albums and then touch New album icon to create a new album.
• Touch Camera icon to launch the Camera app.
• Touch Menu to display the following options:
• Select album: Touch one or more albums or groups that you want to share, stream to another device, or delete.
• Slideshow: View a slideshow of the available pictures and videos.
• Content to display: Indicate the sources of content to display.
• Settings: Touch to access various Gallery settings.
  • SNS data management: Manage your social network services. Touch Sync only via Wi-Fi to only sync your photos and videos when connected to a Wi-Fi network. Touch Add account to add your Google or Facebook account. Touch an account to display and manage its sync settings.
  • Tags: Touch the OFF/ON button next to Tag buddy to turn it ON , which allows you to assign a name to a person in a photo. Touch Face tag to set whether to look for a face in pictures

Viewing Groups of Photos and Videos

• From a Home screen, touch Apps icon > Gallery icon.
• Touch a category and then a group to view it. Thumbnails for each photo and video in the group display.
• Touch Menu > Select item and then touch one or more items that you want to Share via, Delete, or use for a slideshow.
• Touch Menu icon > Slideshow to view a slideshow of the available pictures and videos.

Viewing Photos and Videos

• From a Home screen, touch Apps icon > Gallery icon.
• Touch a category and then a group to view it, and then touch a photo or video thumbnail.
• Touch the screen to show or hide Gallery options.
• Touch the screen with two fingers or double-tap on the screen to zoom all the way in or out.
• Sweep across the screen to display the next or previous photo or video. Videos are indicated by the Play button. The current photo or video is outlined in the thumbnails at the bottom of the screen. Touch a thumbnail to view the photo or video it represents.
• Touch Share via icon to share the photo or video. Touch an option, such as Bluetooth, and follow the onscreen instructions.
• To trim the video being displayed, touch Trim icon and then use the sliders at the bottom of the screen to trim the video.
• To delete the photo or video being displayed, touch Delete icon.
• While viewing a photo, touch Camera icon to launch the Camera app.
• Touch Menu to display the following options for photos:
  • Favorite/Unfavorite: Assign or unassign this photo or video as a Favorite. A gold star icon displays on photos and videos marked as a Favorite.
  • Slideshow: Set up and start a slideshow of the available photos and videos.
  • Photo frame: Add a frame to the selected photo. Press Save when completed or Cancel.
  • Add note on back of image: Add a note to a photo.
  • Copy to clipboard: Copy the current photo to the clipboard.
  • Print: Print the current photo to a Samsung printer.
  • Rename: Enter an new file name.
  • Buddy photo share: Detect the face in this picture and email that person.
  • Rotate left: Allows you to rotate the photo counterclockwise 90 degrees.
  • Rotate right: Allows you to rotate the photo clockwise 90 degrees.
  • Crop: Allows you to crop the image. Touch and drag the crop box or the sides or corners of the crop box to create the crop area, then touch Done. Touch X to stop without cropping the photo.
  • Set as: Assign the photo as a Contact photo or a Home screen,Lock screen, or Home and lock screens wallpaper.
  • Details: Provides details about the video such as Title, Time, Duration, and so on.
  • Settings: Touch to access various Gallery settings. For menu options while a video is playing and other video options, see Video Player.
• Touch Back Key to return to the category screen.

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tabs; including Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 7.0, Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 and Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1.
