HECTOR Insect-Inspired Hexapod Walking Robot

So as long as they have either a cell phone number or email address, they can their money through them. As All Things D notes, Visa and American Express have hatched similar plans, though Discover is the first the bunch to partner with PayPal. While people sending money dont need PayPal accounts, people receiving one have do, at least they must be willing to create one. For senders the service is free and in fact, they got 0.25 percent cash back for the first $3,000 exchanged. As for Discover, a smaller player than Visa and MasterCard, it hopes some of PayPals $230 million customers will sign up for a new credit card while they are at it.

White House today just officially unveiled its plans for a national secure Internet id program. It has dubbed it as National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC). It will be entirely voluntary and largely driven by various private sector companies, who will be responsible for verifying your ID and providing you secure credentials that you will be able to use across internet. The administration is pointing out that the system is not a national ID program or of any sort, and it is going to some length to play up the involvement of multiple credential providers.
