Xiaomi has unveiled its plans to host a launch event for a new, super-thin flagship smartphone. The company is holding the event on January 15 at the National Conference Center in Beijing and has outed a teaser image to focus on the upcoming phone’s thinness.
The photo surfaced on Weibo and shows what arrears to be the next generation Mi smartphone by Xiaomi. The Chinese manufacturer is rumored to unveil the Xiaomi Mi5 at CES in a few days, so the leak seems credible enough.
While the Galaxy Note Edge offers one curved side, it looks like Xiaomi is taking the concept a step further. A poster seemingly reveals a device called the Xiaomi Arch with not one, but two curved edges.
Some new images have appeared, claiming to be the back cover of the sequel to Xiaomi’s 5.5-inch phablet. In addition to the photos, some of the sequel’s specs have leaked out as well.
Xiaomi could already be working on a successor to its MiPad 7.9 which was unveiled earlier this year. The new tablet has allegedly been made the star of a quick photo session somewhere in China.

The leak was published by Chinese tech blogging site IT Home, we can now feast our eyes on what is allegedly the Xiaomi Mi5’s slender chassis.
While several big smartphone manufacturers are still waiting for their Lollipop update, Xiaomi has already rolled out the Android 5.0 Lollipop update on the manufacturer-driven official MIUI blog.
