Nintendo 3DS Has Resistive Touchscreen For Backwards Compatibility

The latest announced Wii U queried now from the some of the buddies from Joystiq of why the 3DS uses the same, resistive technology as the DS. Mr. Konno answered that its all about backward compatibility. We have to play DS games on this and we want to make sure they work. Joystiq also said that the Wii Us 6.2-inch controller used as a resistive touchscreen could primeval tech be getting recycled again for familiar reasons. It made no announcements about the game compatibility on the Wii U beyond confirming that it will play all Wii titles but it gives us some extra rumination.
