Indias Oft Delayed $35 Tablet Ready To Ship

Indias unfortunately named Sakshat tablet began as a $10 priced laptop in 2009, from that it got more difficulties and delays. Now finally the tablet is priced at $35 is just about ready to take off. The Times of India reports that the first batch of mysterious device shipped out at the end of the last month to IIT for Rs. 2,200 apiece, though the government plans to subsidize the device cost by half for Rs. 1,100. As for the specs concerned, it got 7-inch touchscreen, inbuilt keyboard, video conferencing, multimedia content, WiFi, USB port, 32GB HDD and 2GB RAM. It supports Open Office, SciLab, and Internet browsing.
