Learn how to use call option on your Samsung Galaxy Alpha. You can continue your phone conversation while using apps. The following actions are available.

During a voice call

The following actions are available:

  • Volume icon: Increase the volume.
  • Add call: Dial a second call.
  • Keypad: Open the Keypad.
  • End call: End the current call.
  • Speaker: Activate or deactivate the speakerphone. While using the speakerphone, speak into the microphone at the top of the device and keep the device away from your ears.
  • Mute: Turn off the microphone so that the other party cannot heat you.
  • Bluetooth: Switch to a Bluetooth headset if it is connected to the device.
  • Menu icon > Hold: Hold a call. Tap Resume call to retrieve the held call.
  • Menu icon > Contacts: Open the contacts list.
  • Menu icon > Memo: Create a memo.
  • Menu icon > Messages: send message.
  • Menu icon > Personalize call sound: Select or personalize the sound quality used during calls when headset is connected.
  • Menu icon > Settings: Change the call settings.
  • When you launch apps during a call, a pop-up window for the call screen () appears. You can continue your phone conversation while using apps.
  • To move the pop-up window, drag it to another location.
  • To delete the pop-up window, tap and hold it, and then tap OK.
  • To return to the call screen, tap the pop-up window.

During a video call

The following actions are available:

  • Menu icon > Hide me: Hide your image from the other party.
  • Menu icon > Outgoing image: Select an image to show it to the other party.
  • Menu icon > Capture image: Capture the other party’s image.
  • Menu icon > Record video: Record a video of the other party’s images.
  • Menu icon > Memo: Create a memo.
  • Menu icon > Message: send a message.
  • Menu icon > Keypad: Open the keypad.
  • Menu icon > Speaker off or Speaker on: Activate or deactivate the speakerphone. When using the speakerphone, speak into the microphone at the top of the device and keep the device away from your ears.
  • Menu icon > Switch to headset: Switch to a Bluetooth headset if it is connected to the device.
  • Menu icon > Enable dual camera or Disable dual camera: Enable or disable the dual camera feature. Use the front and rear camera so that the other party can see you and your surroundings.

Note: Video calling with dual camera mode will be provide for up to 3 minutes. After 3 minutes the device will turn off the rear camera for optimal performance.

Tap the screen to use the following options:

  • Emotional icons: Apply emotional icons to your image.
  • Switch: Switch between the front and rear cameras.
  • Mute: Turn off the microphone so that the other party cannot hear you.
  • End call: End the current call.
