How To Setup TV App - HTC One Mini

Learn how to setup TV app your HTC One Mini. Make sure that you have an Internet connection before you set up the EPG.

  • Open the TV app.

  • Tap Next.

  • Select your location, and then tap Next. Depending on your location, you may be asked to enter your postal code or select your region.

  • Choose your TV service provider, and then tap Next.

Note: Your cable or service provider may not be supported by the TV app.

  • Select the channels included in your cable package, and then tap Next.

  • Select your video on demand services, and then tap Next.

    Note: The available video on demand services depend on your location.

  • Tap Favorite icon next to your favorite shows. If you don't find your favorite shows in the list, tap Search icon, enter the show's name, and then tap Favorite icon .

  • Tap Finish.

Using the EPG

Use the TV app's EPG (electronic program guide) to check what's showing on your TV, view show details, or schedule TV reminders.

Note: You need to set up a remote before using the TV app.

  • Open the TV app.

  • Do one of the following:

  • Tap a thumbnail to check the show's title, cast, and synopsis.

  • Tap Play icon to watch the show or movie on your TV.

  • Press and hold a thumbnail to see the options menu.

  • Tap View icon to change the type of shows you want to display on the EPG or to view the channel guide.

  • To make changes to your EPG settings, add remotes, and more, tap Menu > Settings.
  • Adding another EPG

    If you have more than one TV service provider, you can add additional EPGs to the TV app and easily switch between them on the HTC One min. The TV app is designed on the concept of Rooms. For each Room you can add one EPG and one remote.

    Note: You can only set up another EPG for a TV service provider from the same location or country.

    When you change the location or country, previously created EPGs and remotes will be deleted. There This is a limit to the number of Rooms you can add. When you reach the maximum number, you'll need to remove one before you can add another.

    • Open the TV app.

    • On the TV app main screen, tap Menu > Settings > Rooms.

    • Tap + and enter a name for the new Room.

    • With Create a new room selected, tap Next.

    Note: If you want to duplicate an existing EPG, select the Room with the EPG you want to copy.

    • Follow the onscreen instructions to setup the EPG.

    To switch between EPGs, tap View icon on the main screen of the TV app.

    Editing, renaming, or removing a Room

    • Open the TV app.

    • Tap Menu > Settings > Rooms.

    • Tap a Room to hide or show channels, tag your favorite channels, and more.

    • If you want to rename or remove the Room, tap Menu icon while viewing the Room editor, and tap the option you want.

    Scheduling TV programs

    Whether your favorite show is airing in the next hour or next weekend, you'll never miss it when you set a reminder in the TV app. The Calendar app will notify you when your favorite show is about to start.

    • Open the TV app.

    • Tap a thumbnail of a program that interests you.

    • Do one of the following:

    • For programs that are part of a series, tap an episode under Upcoming, and then tap Remind me to add a reminder for that show.

    • For programs such as movies or sports events, tap Remind me under the Upcoming to add a reminder for a particular viewing time. The Reminder set icon appears next to the scheduled program.

  • Before the show starts, you'll receive an upcoming event notification. Tap the notification and then tap the link and open it in the TV app to view the show details. If you want to check what shows you scheduled, tap View > My Picks. Then go to the Scheduled tab.
  • Note: If you want to receive reminders for future episodes of a TV series, tap Add series.

    Watching on demand videos

    Add on-demand services to the TV app to enjoy available movies and TV shows anytime you want.

    Note: Most on-demand movies and TV shows can be purchased or rented from your video service provider. You may need to download the on demand service app first from Google Play.

    • Open the TV app.

    • Tap View icon, select Movies, TV Programs, or Sports, and then go to the On demand tab.

    • Tap a thumbnail to view details about the program.

    • Do one of the following:

    • For programs that are part of a series, go to the On demand tab and select an episode. Then tap the video on demand service that you want to use to watch the show.

    • For programs such as movies or sports events, tap the video on demand service that you want to use to watch the show.

  • To add or remove video on demand services, tap Menu > Settings > On Demand.
  • Control TV

    • Open the TV app.

    • Tap Remote icon.

    • Do any of the following:

      • Turn the TV, set top box, or home theater system on or off : On the Power & input tab, tap the On, Off, On/Off button under the device name.

      • Change the input source for the TV or home theater system : On the Power & input tab, tap the Input button under the device name.

      • Change channels, adjust or mute the volume, and more : Go to the Ch/Vol tab.

      • Enter channel numbers directly: Go to the Number pad tab.

      • Switch between recently watched channels : On the Number pad tab, ta pBackkey. You can also switch to a recently watched channel in the Notifications panel.

      • Access the playback controls: Go to the Ch/Vol tab.

      Note: To automatically turn on the display when you pick up HTC One Mini while using the TV app, select the Auto Wake option in Menu > Settings.
