Learn how to make calls on your Samsung Galaxy Tab S. You can make a call by manually dialing a phone number, by tapping a number saved in your contacts.

  • Tap Phone on the Apps screen.
  • Tap Phone, enter a phone number, and then tap Call icon to make a voice call, or tap Video Call icon to make a video call. You can also make calls to phone numbers listed in Groups, Favourites, and Contacts.

  • Tap Phone or Contacts, and then drag a contact or a phone number to the right to make a call.

Making calls from the favorites list

  • You can easily call contacts that you communicate with frequently by adding them to the favorite contacts list.
  • To add contacts to the favorites list, tap Contacts, select a contact, and then tap Favorites icon.
  • To make a call to a favorite contact, tap Favorites, select a contact, and then tap Call icon.

Number prediction

  • Tap Phone.
  • When entering numbers on the keypad, automatic predictions appear. Select one of these to make a call.

Speed dial numbers

  • Tap Phone. For speed dial numbers, tap and hold the corresponding digit.
  • To assign a contact to a speed dial number, tap and hold an available speed dial number on the keypad, tap OK, and then select a contact. Or, tap Menu icon > Speed
  • dial setting, select a number, and then select a contact.

Making an international call

  • Tap Phone.
  • Tap and hold 0 until the + sign appears. Enter the country code, area code, and phone number, and then tap Call icon.
  • To block outgoing international calls, tap Menu icon > Call settings > Call settings > More settings > Call barring. Then, select a call type and deselect International calls.

This guide will work on all Samsung Galaxy Tab S’s; including Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5.
