Adding a new user in Linux is a fairly easy process that wont take more than 5 minutes to complete. You can add new users to Linux, follow the simple steps below.

Open a command line.

Make sure you are logged in as root by typing in whoami.

On some distributions you can type in adduser and follow the instructions that the command line gives you. If not continue this tutorial.

Type in

  • sudo useradd <your username>

Type in

  • sudo passwd <your username>
