Certain Affinity Age of Booty a pirate-themed, real-time strategy game is coming soon to iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The company announced than an all new version of the game in the works being developed with Chaotic Moon. It includes a single-player campaign, along with real-time multiplayer and cross-platform support. There is no current release date yet.
Apple has bought Anobit Technologies, an Israeli maker of flash-memory technology already used in many of Apple Gadgets. Apple Inc Spokesperson Steve Dowling says that Apple buys smaller tech companies from time to time, but generally does not give a reason why. The company is not giving financial terms. Anobit could not be reached for comment after business hours in Jerusalem. Bloomberg has also reported earlier that Apple had confirmed the deal.
The new iPhone app Pin Drop lets users to mark location that matter to them. One or two other startups are trying out this, most notable everplaces, still in private beta version. Users can drop their own pins or they can take inspiration from the curated list feature. Each pin can then be assigned to multiple categories allows users to build up a library of their favourite locations. All of a users pin are private unless they choose to share them public. Apple is planning to put a quad-core A6 chip inside its next generation iPhone or iPad and that is not a confirmation from Apple or any reliable source. What it does indicate is that Apple may be testing iOS support for quad-core CPUs. 9to5 Mac has dug up the images from iOS 5.1 beta, details the supported number of cores. In that a single-core A4 is referred to as /cores/core.0 while dual-core A5s are /cores/core.1. Now a new listing shows, /cores/core.3, is popping up, if you start counting it with zero, indicating the CPU is packing four cores. What they are trying to say is Apple may not be running test on hardware yet, but they may merely testing that the software support for quad-core chips is in the works.

American Airlines has been approved by the FAA to use Apple iPad in cockpits to navigate maps. This initiative is believed to help the airline save about $1 million per year.
