Tumblr Introduces Live Video Streaming

Today, Tumblr has announced the introduction of live video streaming support for its users. Also, with this announcement, Tumblr joins the list of micro-blogging sites offering live video streaming.

You can post live videos on a Tumblr page from a variety of apps, including YouTube. In addition, you can also reblog those posts. If one of your followers posted a live video, you will receive a notification about it. Also, Tumblr will pin the live video streaming post on top of your dashboard.

Here is the full details about live video streaming

  • You can post live videos through YouNow (iOS, Android), Kanvas (iOS, Android), Upclose (iOS, Android) and YouTube (Android-ready right now, iOS-ready in a few days). How? Here’s how.
  • You can reblog them like any other post. Which is wild.
  • They stick around after you shoot them, and can thus be enjoyed in the future as well as the present.
  • We’ll notify you when anyone you follow goes live. And we’ll pin their video to the top of your dashboard. Wouldn’t want you to miss anything, after all.
