Nintendo To Reveal New Console; Backward Compatible With Wii Software

Today, multiple sources has reported that Nintendo will reveal a new console of E3 event this June. This new console will be capable of running games at HD resolutions. According to Game Informer, who first reported the news, this new console will be more powerful than PS3 and Xbox 360 and is capable of running games at 1080p resolutions.

Nintendo is to show this console at the E3 event to garner interest in the publishers for a late 2012 launch. Also, according to IGN, Nintendo will release a pre-announcement statement this month. This new console is rumored to be backwards compatible with current Wii software, allowing nearly all current Wii games playable on the new Console.

CVG states that Nintendo console will use a new controller instead of the updated Wii controller we all came to love. It will also have a built-in screen with touch capability.

With all the rumors we are hearing, we can be sure that Nintendo’s interest is to recapture the hardcore gaming market with this new console.
