Google’s Upcoming Nexus Smartphones Will Be Called Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P

Google will likely announce their two new Nexus smartphones, one made by LG and another a larger version from Huawei, by the end of this month. Now, a recent report claims that Google will brand these two smartphones as Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P.

The report came from Droid-Life and it is not clear why, the company choose to put an X at the end of one and a P at the end of the other, rather than using a consistent naming scheme, like 5X and 6X.

We have heard “5X” as a suggested name for a few weeks, but this marks the first mention of a “6P” moniker. The report claims that the LG device will carry the Nexus 5X label, while Huawei device, which is considered as a premium Nexus device, will carry the Nexus 6P label. The LG device will have a 5.2-inch display while the Huawei handset will sport a 5.7-inch inch screen, hence the “5” and “6” designations.

Specs of the Nexus 6P have it possibly sporting a 5.7-inch QHD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 processor, fingerprint scanner, 3,500-mAh battery, as well as a USB Type-C connector. .

While the LG Nexus smartphone will feature a 5.2-inch screen, a rear fingerprint scanner along with a metal frame and plastic rear and will have a USB Type-C connector and 2,700-mAh battery.
