Microsoft Paint May Soon Be Released As Windows 10 Universal App
Paint is one of the oldest and most used native application that comes with Windows and according to a report, Microsoft may soon release it as a Windows 10 Universal app.
Twitter user WalkingCat, who is also a Microsoft enthusiast, first spotted this new Paint, which was under the name “Newcastle”. However, the app page has no screenshots and has the description of Newcastle football team. Folks at MSPowerUser were able to download the app and they confirmed that it is actually a new version of Paint that Microsoft is developing for Windows 10.

Just like the original Paint, this new app also comes with basic image editing capabilities, but with a more native Universal Windows Platform (UWP) app look. So far, Microsoft has not said anything about killing the classic Paint and replacing it with a modern one. However, if they are going to release this new version, then we can expect it in the upcoming Windows 10 anniversary update that is due to arrive in a couple of months.
