How to Burn Linux ISO Files
If you want to get Linux, you’ll probably need to burn an ISO file. Follow the simple steps below.
Download the ISO file from its website.
Once it is downloaded, use the usb-stick creator at ubuntu.com to write it to a flash drive and make it bootable, or use a program like power2go to burn it.
Once the disk is successfully burned, boot to it by putting it in your CD drive, rebooting your computer, then selecting your CD drive from the computer’s boot menu.
Follow the onscreen instructions to finish up.

If you are running Windows, and want to use Ubuntu and Windows side-by-side, use the Wubi installer at ubuntu.com. If it reports an error downloading, or you already have an Ubuntu ISO newer than Ubuntu 9.10, unpack (possibly with WinRAR), or mount the ISO under Windows, and run wubi.exe in the root folder.
