Googles Android Mobile OS is an open source platform that can be licensed by many smartphone and tablet manufacturers. There is an Android SDK for free downloading, allow developers to develop and distribute custom built Android Apps. Follow the simple steps below and download it
- Review the Android SDK System Requirement to ensure your computer meets the minimum requirements of running the Android SDK
- Go to Android SDK Download Page
- Click the download link next to the operating system you are currently using. There are currently versions of the Android SDK for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. This will download the SDK starter package. The starter package contains the core SDK tools and allows you to download other SDK components as well as the latest version of the Android operating system.
Note
You might need to install Java Development Kit 5 or 6 on your computer to use the Android SDK.
