Destiny Upcoming Update, Changes That May Come

Destiny upcoming update rumors continue to do their rounds, David “Deej” Dague, who is the community manager at Bungie, has clarified about the most of the rumors in the update for the game. As we already reported on bug that leaks the names of missions.

Deej gave insight through Bungie’s Weekly Update: “We’ve seen a lot of theories about Bungie on the Internet this week. I understand why that stuff is compelling.

“The drama of the rumor mill is a symptom of a greater issue: We all want Destiny to be better. The problem is that sifting through gossip in search of truth doesn’t bring us any closer to a stronger game.”

He addressed a question by some fans about Raid Matchmaking, which he explained that while Bungie has pioneered Matchmaking, some of the allies have not gone the “distance together.”

“We’re having conversations about how Matchmaking might support the more challenging activities in Destiny. It’s a start. Keep sounding off about it, and maybe someday some matchmade Fireteam mates will hear you, too,” he added.

Addressing rumors about when the next update for Destiny might be rolling out, his answer was simple and very obscure – “very soon.”

He also encouraged constructive criticism and feedback from fans, saying that it helped the company learn from its mistakes and build on experience gained.

Here are some of the things that can be updated on the new update of Destiny.

Weapon balancing

The Auto Rifle will receive a nerf because it is currently too effective at longer ranges. The shotguns effective range is longer than intended as well. Meanwhile, Scout Rifle will receive a damage boost and so will some of the underperforming Exotic weapons like Thorn and Bad Juju.

Voice communication

Bungie says it will eventually allow players to opt-in to communicate with others during matchmaking activities like Strikes and Crucible multiplayer without creating a Fire Team.

Strike bosses nerfed

Bungie says that Strike bosses currently deal too much damage while players dont deal enough to them. This will eventually be fixed to be less grindy. Thats all a good start, but theres so much more that needs to be fixed with Destiny.

Matchmaking for Heroic and Nightfall events

Bungie hinted at matchmaking coming to more parts of Destiny, but this needs to become a reality, and soon. The grind between level 20 and 26 is pretty significant, which is made worse by the lack of matchmaking.

More unique

Thats pretty much what 99 percent of Destiny is outside of the Raid, unfortunately. The Sword of Crota story mission is the one and only exception because it lets players wield a sword to deal with waves of Hive enemies and three powerful princes. That kind of change up in gameplay is sadly missing from the rest of the Story and Strike missions. Its highly unlikely well see this fixed for the already released portions of the game, and there doesnt appear to be any movement to provide free content by Bungie and Activision. That leaves the two upcoming DLC as our only hope for unique gameplay elements.

Increase the loot drop rate

The 1.02 patch has helped by offering additional reward for Daily and Weekly missions, plus the Strike playlist. However, the overall rate of loot drops does not appear to have been changed.
