T-Mobile Rolls Out Android Marshmallow Update To Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge
Today is the day for Android Marshmallow Updates, and it is T-Mobile’s turn to push out Marshmallow to its Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users. T-Mobile has also updated their support pages for Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge to reflect that the handsets are now receiving update version G920TUVU3EPD1 and G925TUVU3EPD1 respectively.
T-Mobile started carrier testing on this update for these devices a few weeks ago, usually, that is a good indication for users since they know that it will only be a matter of weeks before the update being tested is finally released.
The carrier has not provided a detailed changelog yet so there is no information on any T-Mobile specific changes to the update, but it does bring everything you would expect from a Marshmallow update, including but not limited to improved permissions, Doze mode, Google Now on Tap and much more.
While Google has released Android 6.0 Marshmallow last year, it is only now T-Mobile is rolling it out. Anyway, if you have a Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on T-Mobile then you can download the update via over-the-air now. Since downloading software via a mobile network may result in additional charges, it is better for you to use a Wi-Fi connection when downloading software updates. You have to remember that firmware updates require at least 3GB of free space in your phone and also make sure that your battery is fully charged or at least 70% so that your phone will not turn off while downloading or updating software.
