Sprint Gets Google Nexus S 4G on April 6. Features NFC, Cost $199.99
Google Nexus S, which has been applauded for its up-to-date hardware with NFC (Near Field Computing) chip for mobile payments, is getting released for Sprint with compatibility for Sprints 4G WiMAX network. Google Nexus S 4G will be shipping for sprint from April 6 2011. This high-end Google Experience smartphone will feature ‘Gingerbread 2.3.3 and is manufactured by Samsung. According to the recent listing by Best Buy, Google Nexus S 4G will be priced at $199.99 with a 2 year contract.
Google Android has became a mainstream mobile OS powering different devices ranging from smartphones to tablets. Due to the rate at which Google churns new versions of Android, device manufacturers are lagging behind in getting out the new updates and version to their hardware. This is mostly due to the customized UI (like Samsung’s TouchWiz, HTC’s Sense) offered by the device manufacturers to differentiate their products, which other wise has similar hardware configuration of their competitors. To address this issues, Google is releasing its own Google experience devices that runs on stock UI. The Google Nexus One and Google Nexus S 4G manufactured by HTC and Samsung respectively falls under the Google Experience devices and both of them receives up-to-date updates and Android upgrades (Currently both devices runs Android Gingerbread 2.3.3).
