A recent rumor claims that, Apple’s upcoming 9.7-inch iPad Pro will have a starting price of $599 and have 32GB and 128GB storage options. Apple is expected to announce this new iPad Pro at the company’s “Let Us Loop You In” media event on Monday, March 21.

Citing anonymous sources, 9to5Mac claims that, the base model with 32 GB storage will be Wi-Fi only and is priced at $599. While the 128 GB model will carry a higher-price tag and comes with an option to connect to LTE cellular networks.

Previous 9.7-inch iPads have had a $499 starting price, meaning the smaller iPad Pro could be Apple’s most expensive tablet ever in its size class. However, 32 GB base storage would be higher than 16 GB for the base iPad Air 2. According to this rumor, the current iPad Air 2, which cost $499 with 16 GB of storage, will remain in Apple’s tablet lineup following the launch of the 9.7-inch iPad Pro

The 9.7-inch iPad Pro will have some new features along with many of the same features as the larger version from last year. The device is expected to have a design that features four stereo speakers around the sides, a “brighter” display that supports the Apple Pencil, a Smart Connector for a new proportionally sized Smart Keyboard, and an A9X processor with up to 4GB of RAM. It is also rumored that the 9.7-inch version will include a 12-megapixel camera and 4K video recording.

Apple will reportedly announce the new iPad Pro model, along with the iPhone SE and new Apple Watch bands, at its “Let Us Loop You In” media event in San Francisco on March 21.
