How To Use Screen Mirroring – Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet
Learn how to use Screen mirroring on your Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet. Mirroring the screen of another Xperia device wirelessly on your device You can use the Screen mirroring feature to share the screen of another Xperia device on the screen of your device without using a cable connection.
Wi-Fi Direct technology creates a wireless connection between the two devices. The other Xperia device, for example, an Xperia phone or tablet, must support Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast.
To mirror the screen of the Xperia device on your device
- Your device: From your Home screen, tap Apps icon.
- Find and tap Settings > Xperia Connectivity > Screen mirroring > OK.
- Tap Standby mode.
- Other device: From your Home screen, tap Apps icon.
- Find and tap Settings > Xperia Connectivity > Screen mirroring > Turn on Screen mirroring.
- Tap OK and select a device.
- Your device: Tap Accept to connect with your device.
Mirroring the screen of your device wirelessly on a TV
- You can use the Screen mirroring feature to show the screen of your device on a TV or other large display without using a cable connection. Wi-Fi Direct technology creates a wireless connection between the two devices, so you can sit back and enjoy your favorite photos from the comfort of your couch.
- You can also use this feature to listen to music from your device via the TV’s speakers.
Note: Your TV must support screen mirroring based on Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast for the functionality described above to work. If your TV does not support screen mirroring, you may need to purchase a wireless display adapter separately.
Note: When using screen mirroring, the image quality may sometimes be negatively impacted if there is interference from other Wi-Fi networks.
To mirror the screen of your device on a TV screen
- TV: Follow the instructions in the User guide for your TV to turn on the screen mirroring function.
- Your device: From your Home screen, tap Apps icon.
- Find and tap Settings > Xperia Connectivity > Screen mirroring.
- Tap Turn on Screen mirroring and select the device you want to mirror content to.
Note: When using screen mirroring, do not cover the Wi-Fi antenna area of your device.
Note: Your TV must support screen mirroring based on Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Miracast for the functionality described above to work.
