How To Use Notification Panel – HTC One M8
Learn how to use Notification Panel on your HTC One M8. Notification icons inform you of new messages, calendar events, alarms, and activities in progress such as files downloading.
When you see notification icons, open the Notifications panel to check out details of the notifications that you’ve received.
- To open the Notifications panel, slide down from the top of the screen. If you have several notifications, scroll down the screen to see them all.
- To quickly access the Notifications panel from Quick settings, tap Menu icon.
- To see more information, such as email previews and calendar events, slide two fingers apart to expand a notification. To collapse it, slide two fingers together.
- Some notifications allow you to take immediate action. For example, tap a missed call notification to return the call or reply with a text message.
- Tap the notification icon on the left to open the corresponding app.
- To dismiss just one notification in the list, drag it left or right. To dismiss all notifications and close the Notifications panel, tap Close icon.
Notification widget
On the lock screen, you can see notifications such as missed calls, text messages, calendar events, and more.
- Drag down from the clock to expand the widget.
- If there is more than one missed call, text, or email, tap > icon to view the next notification.
- Tap a notification to go directly to its app.
You can change which notifications appear on the widget in Security settings.
Notification LED
The notification LED shows a:
- Solid green light when HTC One is connected to the power adapter or a computer and the battery is fully charged.
- Flashing green light when you have a pending notification and the display is off.
- Solid orange light when the battery is being charged.
- Flashing orange light when the battery level reaches very low.
