Finally, AT&T is getting aggressive with Cricket Wireless, as the company introduces a new all-in-one plan with unlimited text, talk, and data for $65 ($70 if you opt out of auto-pay) across North America. AT&T also promises that it will not throttle the speed after a set limit and this is truly an unlimited data plan. With that said, it says it might consider “reasonable network management practices” on the new plan in the future, and Cricket already limits speeds to 8Mbps.

This new offer will position Cricket as a direct competitor to unlimited plans from T-Mobile and Sprint, citing the wider extent of its LTE coverage. In addition, Cricket is also offering a $100 bill credit if you are swapping switching from T-Mobile.

This new plan and pricing is especially shocking to see from an AT&T subsidiary, considering how AT&T itself brought back unlimited data earlier this year at a whopping $100 a month, and even required the unrelated bundling of a DIRECTV or U-Verse TV subscription.

The new unlimited plan from Cricket Wireless is available beginning April 17, 2016. Cricket provides more 4G LTE coverage nationwide than T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint or Boost. With this plan, subscribers do not have to sign an annual contract and are eligible for Cricket Rewards program.

However, this new plan is not without drawbacks. For starters, the download speed is maxed at 8Mbps for LTE or 4Mbps for 4G, also Mobile Hotspot feature not available.
