On Thursday, Apple updated its Apple Store app to support Touch Id and a new two-factor authentication system to secure user’s Apple Id accounts.

Touch ID is a fingerprint-based security measure. Previously, when users access the Apple Store to view orders, access EasyPay receipts, or make reservations at retail locations, they have to input their Apple ID password every single time. Now, users can use Touch ID to access this information.

Apple also added two-step verification to Apple Store. Two-step verification is a process involving two subsequent but dependent stages to check the identity of a person trying to access services.

Here is the changelog of this update.

This is update is good news for security conscious users. The Apple Store is free for all users and you can download it from here.
