Apple Music Reaches 10 Million Subscribers
According to a recent report, Apple Music has reached 10 million subscribers in just 6 months. This is an achievement is a major milestone for Apple, when compared to Spotify, which takes more than six years to achieve this number.
This also makes Apple as the second largest music streaming service provider after Spotify, which has over 20 million paid subscribers and over 75 million listeners.
Apple launched Apple Music in more than 100 countries on June 30th along with the release of iOS 8.4. Apple also launched the beta version of its music streaming service for Android in November.
Back in October of 2015, Tim Cook had revealed Apple Music had 6.5 million subscribers.
According to rumors, Apple may add support for high-definition audio streaming format to Apple Music and is believed to be one of the reason why Apple may ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack in iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and opt for an all-in-one Lightning port.
