Well, shockingly enough, it hasnt yet taken the internet and ground productivity to a halt, but Google is been proactive and patched the flaw by itself. The fix is applied to its own browser Google Chrome. Firefox and Internet Explorer will have to wait for Adobes fix which is expected any minute now. It is still good to know someone is looking out for the security of our data, even if it is someone already has the access to most of it anyway.

But, with 8 million downloads Firefox3 got a Guinness World Record for the most software downloads in a day on 2008. So, Internet Explorer 9 now got WebM Plug in support with 'Preview' from Google to make Internet videos more friendly. As a technology preview, the users are able to play all WebM videos just like the good Internet overloads intended them to, despite the fact that an additional download is needed. Microsoft said that it will allow for support and it appears to be following up on its word.

Adobe has published a security advisory in reponse to a critical security issue in Adobe Flash Player. This vulnerability affects the flash player for Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, Solaris and Android, it also imapcts authplay.dll componet included in the Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader X. So the entire population of the internet are affected by this, So the warning was the vulnerability discovered may cause crashes and potentially permit hijacking of systems. This issue also affects the company's Reader and Acrobat Software Products. The better news now is Adobe has found it's being actvely exploited 'in the wild' through .swf file embedded in a Excel spreadsheet, but a fix hasn't been found until the beginning of the next week.
