India Seeks To Ban .xxx Domains. Joins Indonesia And The Middle East To Protect The Moral Integrity Of Its citizens

After nearly 5 years of approvals and rejections, the ,xxx domain, excusively for porn has been approved by ICANN (Internet Corp. for Assigned Names and Numbers). Shortly after the approval, Indian government expressed its intention to seek a ban of the pornographic domain. This move by Indian government will place it in the league of Indonesia and Middle East governments in protecting the moral integrity of its citizen.

Now Yahoo got Search Direct, something like Google Instant for Google. It contains one search box that quickly and automatically suggests results as you type. Not like Google Instant, it will not update the entire results of the page to reflect the outcome of your search, but rather than an enlarged search box like the one on the image above, providing up the ten suggested queries and three suggested results. It makes it a bit speeder, but also a fairly limited comparison. It is also a bit self-serving, as any search that happens to include the same letters as one of Yahoos own services will promote tem above all other results.

Firefox 4 doubled downloads of Microsofts latest web browser IE9 for the first 24 hours, but with more twice downloads in its first day. Microsoft not without reason boasted that IE9 was downloaded 2.35 million times in the first 24 hours as we reported last week. But less than 24 hours after launch, Firefox 4 cleared 4.7 million, according to Mozilla Glow site that logs downloads.
