With Sony PSN was targeted by an unknown hacker, Sony admitted after a week of silence that users personal information has been compromised. Now an interesting move was made by Sony to get back its loyal user base. In the official FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) released in the event of the current outage, Sony sheds a bit of light about refunding money to the users.

Last Wednesday (April 20, 2011) Sonys PlayStation Network was down. That time Sony said that it is for maintenance and the outage would only last for a day or two. But now, Sony has announced that the outage was due to a hacker infiltrating the system and stealing PlayStation 3 and PSP players personal information. Sony did not comment about whether the data that is stolen included credit card information.Sony said that the personal information of registered PlayStation Network (PSN) has been compromised, that forced them to shutdown the server last week. It believes personal information like Logins, passwords may have been illegally obtained.

As we reported earlier the rumor about the successor to Nintendos Wii Gaming Console has become true. Nintendo has confirmed its plan to introduce the successor to its gaming console next year. Also Nintendo will reveal this model in the upcoming E3 gaming expo to be held in Los Angeles on June 7th. Still there is no official details about the console and the controllers. But we can hope for a solid improvement in terms of graphics department allowing us to play games at HD. Also we can imagine that Nintendo will come with a improved controller for the new games. Earlier this month Nintendo has lowered the price of Wii by $30 and and started selling them for around $170.

NVidia’s new Optimus Graphics Technology which is available only to notebooks till now, will be launched for desktops at the COMPUTEX 2011 convention in Taipei, Taiwan starting May 31. For those who are new to the term Optimus Graphics Technology of NVidia will allow automatic switching between integrated GPU and discrete GPU as required for optimal performance. This technology offers great graphics performance and better battery life for notebooks.

It really started on Wednesday night, with PlayStation gamers finding their network unresponsive to their login attempts, and now it continues as well. Sony has now finally shed some light on the problems; the culprit for the trouble has been identified as an external intrusion. The current downtime for PSN is second one, with anonymous group of online crusaders climbing responsibility for the first.
