Learn how to use Toolbox on your Samsung Galaxy S5. This feature allows you to customize a quick access feature that hold up to five frequently used application shortcuts.
Once activated, this on-screen button can be placed anywhere. This button appears atop off current screens and can only be disabled via either the Notifications Panel or via the Toolbox screen.

Note: There can only be at most five applications assigned to the quick access Tool-box button.

To activate the Toolbox:

  • From the main Settings screen, tap Toolbox icon.
  • In a single motion touch and slide the Tool-box slider to the right to turn it on. The slider color indicates the activation status.
    When activated, the Tool-box access button appears on the current screen.
    or
  • From the Notification panel, tap Open Grid view icon to display additional functions.
  • Toggle on the Tool-box activation button (turns green).

To deactivate the Toolbox:

  • From the main Settings screen, tap Tool-box icon.
  • In a single motion touch and slide the Tool-box slider to the right to turn it off.
    or
  • From the Notification panel, tap Open Grid view icon to display additional functions.
  • Toggle off the Tool-box activation button (turns grey).

To customize the Toolbox applications:

  • From the active Tool-box screen, tap Edit.
  • Place a check mark alongside up to five applications. These will be quickly accessible via the on-screen button.
  • Tap Save once you have completed the assignment of your applications.
